Admissions Testing Admissions testing is often required by independent schools to help identify a student’s cognitive and/or academic functioning, overall strengths and weaknesses, and learning styles. This type of testing will help schools determine if their program is the best fit for a prospective student. Please contact private schools directly to determine which type of admission testing is required.
IQ Testing Testing used to assess thinking and reasoning abilities and determine cognitive strengths and weaknesses.
Academic Screening Brief testing that estimates a student’s reading, writing, and/or math skills. Academic screening does not lead to a specific diagnosis but is helpful in determining if a student is at-risk for a learning disorder, if a more comprehensive evaluation is warranted, or if they are making progress with their current academic interventions/tutoring.
